Job Description:

As a Team Leader you organize and optimize the day to day operation. In this role it’s your responsibility to achieve the agreed performance measures, compliance and safety regulations.

You will report to the Operations Manager and will lead a team of approximately 15 employees

You will be involved with process and quality optimization for the whole Central-Dispatch & Shuttle-Planning team and assist the Operations Manager where needed.

What do you do on an average day?

·You will manage and control the staff planning for your department

·Of course, you also manage the service and performance levels for the operation and you monitor costs control system for warehousing

·Ongoing you will supervise the teams divided to your role. This includes illness management, reviews, recruitment and people/talent development

·Take initiatives and see opportunities to improve processes in the warehouse

·Next to these day to day tasks you keep trying to improve the service and profitability level for existing warehouse operations and improve quality trough continuous improvements

·Ensure correct reporting of performance, as well as to stay compliant with defined UPS Service Level Agreements

·Accountable for the staffing levels in the warehouse, correct handling of paper flow and correct handling of Customs Documents

·Pro-active follow-up on challenges in the process

·Responsible for reporting day-to-day activities to the Operations Manager

·Motivate and support a shuttle-planning team as well as the P&D team

What do we expect of you?

  • MBO/HBO level with minimal 5 years working experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in supervision/management related to airfreight
  • Working hours in shifts incl. weekends: 06:30-15:00, 14:30-23:00 en 22:30-07:00 our
  • Skills:
    • Capable in working with strict deadlines
    • Analytical view on operations
    • Trained in Controller Function Airfreight Security
    • Eye for automatization
    • Motivator
