Job Description:

You act as the Group Manager of the UPS L&D Implementations Group for EMEA. In this role you are responsible for the successful execution of new client implementation projects, high impact customer renewals projects, and the implementation of strategic operational initiatives within this geography. Projects typically encompass warehousing, transportation, and various types of value added supply chain services. These implementation projects often entail the development and introduction of new supply chain capabilities, IT system solutions, and/or innovative solutions.

What do you do on an average day?

  • Manage the team of Project Managers and Specialists, including training, coaching and people development activities;
  • Provide Project Assurance for all projects being managed by the group, which includes maintaining a senior level relationship with key customer stakeholders
  • Organize and host Weekly Steering Committee meetings with Staff Level representation;
  • Act as the 2nd level escalation point for any implementations related issues and ensure these are effectively addressed and resolved;
  • Oversee the project and resource planning, including assuring ongoing right-sizing of the group based on the mid and long-term business outlook; • Own the end-to-end Implementations Process and actively work on driving ongoing process optimization initiatives;
  • Maintain a close relationship with the department heads of all implementation support functions on order to assure adequate ongoing support.

What do we expect of you?

  • Master or Bachelor degree, preferably in Logistics / Supply Chain;
  • 10 years of relevant working experience within logistics / UPS ;
  • 5+ years of experience in a management position, managing multiple direct reports;
  • Proven experience in a project management role with responsibility for managing large and complex projects. Various years of working experience in Operations will also be required;
  • Be fluent in English (preferably also knowledge of German and/or French);
  • Highly developed process and project management skills, able to communicate on different levels in an organization. You are also able to work within time-limits / pressure;
  • It is important that you have a hands on mentality, are result / service and quality orientated, flexible in working hours and able to travel when required.
