Job Description:


As Quality Assurance Specialist at UPS you perform functions on highly complex IT Systems used worldwide. As part of a scrum team you work closely together with the business functions, team members and the IT Department. Your primary role is to analyze user stories (requirements) and systems, mitigating risks and preventing software issues. By execution of automated and manual tests you ensure that developed software is fit for purpose.

What do you do on an average day?

  • You analyze User Stories for validity and Feasibility
  • Maintain, design and develop automation scripts when needed
  • Perform system verification testing activities to include:
    • Integration and functional test
    • Systems Acceptance
    • Automated regression and smoke test
    • Stress and Volume
  • Detect, investigate and track software defects and inconsistencies
  • Apply quality engineering standards through the Agile Product lifecycle
  • Analysis of defects coming back from UAT
  • Provide supporting documentation
  • Work together with other members in the scrum team
  • Provide innovative ideas and solutions in a dynamic environment

What do we expect of you?

  • Education: minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Computer science, Information Systems Management, Business studies or Information technology or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: 5-8 years as a Software Tester preferably in an agile environment. Experience working in logistics and knowledge of Brokerage / Customs Clearance is an advantage.
  • Skills: SDLC & Software Testing principles; Agile Principles, Advanced skills in application development & testing practices. Excellent analytical capabilities
  • Knowledge and experience with Testing and QA processes and methodologies
  • Experience in creation of test plans, test cases and test scripts (incl. estimation)
  • Experienced with MS Visual Studio, C#, .Net, XML (or comparable experience with Java/Python)
  • Familiar with automated testing tools such as WinAppDriver, Selenium, SpecFlow (Cucumber is comparable)
  • Knowledge of Oracle and SQL Databases, database schemas and SQL
  • Workflow Management Tools such as TFS, JIRA, or equivalent
  • Familiar with test management tools such as Azure DevOps Test Plan (advantage)
  • Experience using load/volume test tools such as jMeter (advantage) / HP LoadRunner (comparable)
  • Test certifications like ISEB/ISTQB is an advantage
